In a dazzling fusion of art and athleticism, Cj Hendry, a luminary in contemporary art, makes an entry into Miami’s vibrant art scene. This December, Hendry debuts her first-ever public art endeavor, the HOOPS Tree, a permanent installation set to captivate the Magic City. Nestled in Miami’s illustrious Wynwood art district, the HOOPS Tree stands as a monumental tribute to basketball, stretching an impressive 20 feet into the sky and adorned with 34 basketball hoops, each evoking the elegance of chandeliers.
The deep blue hue of the HOOPS Tree makes a striking statement against Miami’s coastal backdrop, inviting onlookers to immerse themselves in its visual splendor. This interactive installation not only showcases Hendry’s artistic prowess but also offers an exhilarating challenge: sink 34 consecutive baskets in each hoop, captured on video from December 6th to 9th, and win a staggering prize of   one million dollars!

Reflecting on her artistic journey, Hendry shares, “Venturing into public art has been a profound shift for me. While I cherish the intimacy of drawing, I’ve always yearned to create on a grander scale. HOOPS Tree is a culmination of that aspiration, a permanent fixture that marries practicality with creativity.” This partnership with the Miami City Council marks a significant milestone for Hendry, highlighting her versatility and commitment to leaving an enduring artistic legacy in public spaces.

To commemorate the unveiling of HOOPS Tree, Hendry offers a limited series of six exclusive drawings in varying shades of blue, each limited to 600 editions, reserved for her previous clients. Among these, a golden ticket is hidden, bestowing the lucky finder with the honor of claiming the largest drawing in the collection.

Cj Hendry, born in 1988 and hailing from Brisbane, Australia, is renowned for transforming her fascination with contemporary culture into hyper-photorealistic drawings. Her exhibits, celebrated for their immersive and interactive nature, have captivated audiences worldwide, from Miami to Melbourne, leaving an indelible mark on the art world. Hendry’s notable clientele and extensive waitlist, now exceeding 3,000 collectors, underscore her status as a sought-after force in modern art

About Cj Hendry

Cj Hendry (b. 1988) is a New York-based artist originally from Brisbane, Australia. Hendry transforms her fascination with contemporary material culture into large-scale, hyper-photorealistic drawings. Cj Hendry’s exhibits aren’t intended to be passively observed but, rather, actively experienced through engaging, fun, and thought-provoking exhibits. For her exhibit Monochrome, Hendry and her team built an entire multi-room “home” inside a warehouse with each room entirely monochrome-colored from floor to ceiling and everything in between. For Rorschach, guests jumped through a gigantic bouncy house maze in order to reach and finally view the impressive series. Each Cj Hendry exhibit, from Miami to Melbourne, draws massive crowds with attendees waiting in line for several hours – and, in the end, everyone leaves more enriched than when they arrived. With her celebrity clientele – and many works in private collections – Hendry’s waitlist is now well over 3,000 collectors with a wait time of up to five years to get their hands on a piece
