2023. Technology is developing at an incredible speed. AI, which has been used in all spheres to improve labor efficiency and productivity, has got to the art sphere and brought several modifications.
We proposed AI to pretend an art critic and to answer our 7 questions about contemporary art today and reply to them using the latest trends without being too detailed and with a bit of humour
Is contemporary art just a blank canvas with a dot on it?
While minimalism and simplicity have their place in contemporary art, it’s important to remember that there’s more to it than meets the eye. Just like a dot on a blank canvas can convey profound meaning, contemporary art often challenges traditional notions and invites viewers to engage with concepts and emotions in unconventional ways. So, it’s not just a dot; it’s a universe of possibilities!
Why do artists insist on using unusual materials like toilet paper rolls or potato chips?
Ah, the quirky charm of contemporary art! Artists have always been known to push boundaries and explore new frontiers. By using unconventional materials, they challenge our preconceptions and invite us to see everyday objects in a fresh light. Plus, who can resist the allure of a potato chip sculpture? It’s like a snack for the eyes!
What about all the abstract shapes and splashes of color? Is it just random?
Abstract art has a way of capturing the intangible and stirring our imagination. Those seemingly random shapes and splashes of color are like visual jazz, creating a symphony of emotions and ideas. They invite us to embrace the beauty of ambiguity and find our own meanings in the chaos. It’s like a Rorschach test, but without the pressure of being analyzed by a psychologist!
Why are some artworks so controversial and provocative?
Controversy and provocation have long been companions of art throughout history. In today’s contemporary art scene, artists continue to challenge societal norms, spark conversations, and make us think. By pushing boundaries, they test our comfort zones and remind us that art has the power to provoke change. So, buckle up and prepare for a wild ride of artistic expression!
Can anyone be an artist nowadays? What happened to the traditional 'master'?
Ah, the age-old question of talent and skill! While contemporary art has opened doors for diverse voices and perspectives, the notion of the “master” hasn’t vanished entirely. Artists today come from various backgrounds, and their expertise lies not only in technical mastery but also in their ability to convey unique visions. So, whether you’re a seasoned painter or a cat who likes to dip its paw in paint, art welcomes all!
Why are there so many art installations that make no sense?
Ah, the enigma of art installations! They might seem perplexing at first glance, but remember, they’re designed to immerse you in a different realm of experience. Sometimes, they’re like visual poetry, inviting you to ponder the mysteries of existence or reflect on societal issues. And hey, if you still can’t figure them out, just enjoy the opportunity to take some Instagram-worthy selfies!
Is contemporary art becoming too commercialized?
Art and commerce have always had a complex relationship. While the art market continues to evolve and adapt, contemporary art still thrives in its rebellious spirit. Many artists challenge the commodification of art, while others embrace the opportunities presented by a globalized world. So, whether you’re looking at a million-dollar piece or a quirky creation on Etsy, there’s room for both the profound and the commercially delightful in today’s art landscape!

A thin edge of seduction and the consumerism fetish is thoroughly blurred in Acosta’s art in the use of both light, and dark tones. Bold lines serve as a fashionable juxtaposition of a peaceful dream-like state and a vivid color, representing action and presence in the moment.
