Nothing incorporates a certain lifestyle better than concept stores. With an appeal to particular audience, they introduce a new way of combining culture and business of selling, presenting a well-curated selection of products that suggest a specific theme. And they might be very effective, especially the cool ones that serve as a foundation for development of new talents in art and fashion.

Just like the mission of The Canvas, to empower ethical brands with a focus on environmental sustainability. With spaces in Antwerp, Williamsburg, and New York City, The Canvas has fixed its reputation as a local hub for rising businesses from around the world challenged by the most complex issue in fashion that is difficult to unravel — sustainability. That is why FOXYLAB NY is one of the proud contributors, introducing its upcycling concept to a larger artistic scene in New York City.
Modifying the three R’s into Reduce, Reuse, Retail, The Canvas has a community of more than a 100 brands, and partners with Google, New York City Department of Sanitation, Goodwill NY NJ, and more, turning the global environmental aspirations into business. The hub also supports appropriate trends in a modern world and has recently launched an exhibit in The Canvas Bowery with artworks created in quarantine, and held an event for customizing face masks with embroidery. The Canvas and FOXYLAB NEW YORK are united by an effort they put in the initiatives towards acceleration of fast fashion through a connected community. And most importantly, they have one goal in common – to stimulate progress of sustainable development.

A thin edge of seduction and the consumerism fetish is thoroughly blurred in Acosta’s art in the use of both light, and dark tones. Bold lines serve as a fashionable juxtaposition of a peaceful dream-like state and a vivid color, representing action and presence in the moment.
