On the third day of the past Parisian Fashion Week spring-summer 2023 Vogue Ukraine hold one of the most important and definitely the most meaningful and symbolic event of the season.
The magazine which has always been promoting and supporting its country fashion talents, gathered 18 top national brands in the French capital to showcase the pieces from their latest collections.
Our team had a great chance and honour to assist this unprecedented evening and talk to the designers who shape the future of not only the Ukrainian but the world fashion.
Litkovska, Ruslan Baginskiy, Frolov, Ksenia Schnaider, Bevy, Bobkova, IENKI IENKI if to mention just a few of fashion brands who took part in the initiative of Vogue UA had an opportunity to present their work and communicate their views to the industry leaders.
Thus, Anna Wintour arrived first, couple hours before the “official” opening of the presentation. She expressed her encouragement and talked to the designers about their current projects and plans for future. As all of the participants strongly believe in better one.
The “trend” for the Ukrainian brands with their trademark highest quality of product, sustainable approach, contemporary femininity and smart insert of traditional elements and historic narratives, came long before the tragedy of Russian occupation in last spring.
Nowadays the interest to the Ukrainians has doubled. In the context of current military aggression which the country has been experiencing since march 2022 many civilians had to flee their homes.
While Ukrainian creatives are among the first to respond by raising their voices against the war, international fashion community instantly reacted to the conflict by showing support and allocating the funds to help the victims.
Designers had to adjust to the quickly changing conditions, just as the famous hat maker Ruslan Baginskiy. In our interview he said that the brand closed temporally its store in Kyiv but managed to restart the new production in Lviv (the native town of Ruslan) where a new boutique has been recently opened.
Svetlana Bevza, the founder and creative director of the eponymous brand brought to Paris some of her spring-summer 2023 numbers shown at the New York Fashion week earlier in September, displayed together with the jewellery pieces made in the signature ear of wheat shape.
In our conversation Svetlana said that she maintains the production in Ukraine, as much as possible in the challenging circumstances.
We had a chance to talk with another legend, Ksenia Schnaider, the co-founder of KSENIASCHNAIDER brand based in Kyiv.
Known for the invention of demi-denims, Ksenia presented in Paris her best-sellers, among which combination of the culotte and the skinny jeans. Real activist of sustainability in fashion Schnaider became one of the pioneers of recycling and zero-wast concept.
So different in their styles all designers are united in their desire to stop the war, come back home and continue to create beauty which has no boundaries. With love in heart and skills in hands of these bright, gifted and brave people.
We would like to express our gratitude to our media partner within Paris fashion weeks, the leading PR agency Lucien Pages for the invitation to this one-of-a-kind event.

A thin edge of seduction and the consumerism fetish is thoroughly blurred in Acosta’s art in the use of both light, and dark tones. Bold lines serve as a fashionable juxtaposition of a peaceful dream-like state and a vivid color, representing action and presence in the moment.
