Every year the barren land of Nevada’s Black Rock desert turns into a temporary city. Once a week, artists, dreamers, musicians, designers, entrepreneurs and free spirits come together to forge one of the world’s most one-of-a-kind cultural gatherings called Burning Man Festival.
By 1986 the event had begun in a little bay in San Francisco and is now an international phenomenon that has impacted the cultural world of art, fashion, tech, architecture and creative communities around the world. Burning Man is not just a festival; it is an effort to reinvent one’s identity, be part of a community and use one’s imagination.

There will also be gifting as people share their creative artworks and pieces and there will be sharing of resources to those who need it. And for nine days, millions of colorful lights will light up the evening sky, with the burning of the Man and the Temple shining the brightest as the event draws to a close. Burning Man is unique from other festivals:
There are no commercial sponsors and no advertising and there are no food or merchandise vendors. The event ends with the symbolic burning of a huge wooden effigy of “The Man”, followed by the burning of the Temple, one of the most emotional parts of the week.

Metallic fabrics, technology-enhanced accessories and LED light add futuristic vibes while providing awakened dimensions after dark. This look is related to the genre of science fiction, information culture and futuristic cities. A large number of participants come out sporting Holographic material, neon, glowing masks and Cyber punk Goggles which makes them stand out when it comes to dark times of the day.

The flowing fabrics are made into rugs and so are the hand-made accessories, both signifying an adventurous desert way of life, as are the earthy colors. Certain attributes of this type include length of skirts, loose robes and extra garments (and handmade jewelry). There are two elements to style: comfort and creativity, and something grounded with strong tie-ins to their surroundings and a sense of self.

Burning Man is not a limited time, single purpose or government-sponsored event. It is a unique combination of creativity, collaboration, fashion, art and freedom associated with a living experiment. Breath taking art installations, pushing the boundaries of style and sculpture and connections made with humanity all remain in the mind and spirit of the world to this day. So if you have not visited before it is a must visit festival i would say!
