How to Generate Captions for Social Media Posts with CapCut Desktop Video Editor
Step 1: Open CapCut Desktop Video Editor And Upload Your Video
Begin by launching the CapCut Desktop Video Editor on your computer. Once the application is open, you’ll need to upload the video you want to add captions to. To do this, click on the “Import” button or drag and drop your video file directly into the media library. After uploading, drag the video onto the timeline at the bottom of the screen. This sets up your project and allows you to start editing.

Step 2: Generate AI Captions
With your video on the timeline, navigate to the captioning feature within CapCut. Look for an option labeled “Text” in the toolbar. Select Auto Captions, choose the preferred language for the captions and adjust settings as needed. Click Create to generate captions automatically. The software will analyze the audio in your video and create text captions based on what is being spoken. Review the generated captions for accuracy.

Step 3: Export the Video
Once you are satisfied with your captions, it’s time to export your video. Click on the “Export” button, usually located in the top right corner of the interface. Choose your desired resolution and format settings based on where you plan to post your video (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube). After configuring these settings, hit “Export” again to save your video with the newly added captions. Your video is now ready for sharing on social media platforms!
