Paris’ Louvre Museum collaborates once more with Uniqlo to produce an exclusive t-shirt collection titled “The Scripts of the Louvre.” Developed by design agency M/M (Paris), founded by MichaĂ«l Amzalag and Mathias Augustyniak in 1992, the collection showcases excerpts of written works from the museum’s renowned collection. Scheduled for release on May 8, this limited-edition line encapsulates the innovative vision of its creators.
The inscriptions chosen for the collection originate from all nine departments of the Louvre Museum, dating back to the 3rd millennium B.C. and up to French Baroque painter Poussin’s signature. M/M created a new Louvre logo in their original typography to accompany the collection.
The t-shirt collection created by M/M for the Louvre Museum includes a unique feature: The Agent, a recurring character in M/M’s work, is depicted as an inverted image of the Mona Lisa seated on I.M. Pei’s iconic pyramid found in the Louvre’s courtyard. Alongside the t-shirts, posters showcasing the same designs will be publicly exhibited within the museum.
