The Poetcore aesthetic is a fashion trend that embodies a romantic, artistic way of aesthetics, inspired by the lifestyles of poets, writers and literary people. This fashionable trend takes inspiration from the image of a person writing poetry in the candlelight, going for walks through the autumnal parks with a notebook in their hand, and enjoying a good classic book in a cafe.
Although it is not bold like other modern fashion, Poetcore clothing relates to Dark Academia, Cottagecore, and other styles such as Romantic Academia. At its heart, however, Poetcore fashion is concerned with the Aesthetic of the Poetic: slow living, creativity and beauty that transcends the temporal.

Poetcore refers to a fashion trend and a lifestyle which is characterized by an aesthetic style that draws inspiration from literary history, poets and classic literature also vintage artistic environments. It involves soft fabrics and a nostalgic mood. If you were to merge the wardrobe of an average 19th-century poet with a modern soft minimalism, you would get Poetcore. It is a pintreset created fashion where content creators post ethereal fashion shots, poetic art, and vintage portraits.

It is also the settings they lived in libraries, candlelit rooms, gardens, and ancient coffee shops that give us the Romantic view of life that is very close to the concept of Poetcore. Taking inspiration from centuries past, this trend fuses historical influences with today’s fashion in an exciting way that makes this aesthetic both accessible and wearable for the fashion consciousness of today. Here is the Poetcore trend color palette:

I would say this fashion is probably the most best one of the Poetcore styles. It’s defined by relaxed, flowing tops (such as peasant tops), lace details, full skirts and soft fabrics that look feminine and retro.Â
The style is directly inspired by clothing from the romantic literary time period which evokes the emotions and atmosphere that poets like Emily Dickinson expressed in their poetry.

An evocative variation of Poetcore that incorporates some of the moodier aspects of Dark Academia, this style makes use of darker colours such as black, charcoal and dark brown. It’s characterized by vintage overcoats and boots as well as a lot of layering.
The aesthetic is rather mysterious and deeply intellectual, similar to the way that Edgar Allan Poe is often depicted in literary or intellectual contexts as an icon.

Poetcore shares similarities with several popular aesthetics, but each has unique characteristics.

I am totally obsessed with the Poetcore Aesthetic. It feels like the perfect fusion of fashion, literature and art also it has everything that I adore. The Poetcore Aesthetic is about celebrating the romantic notion of poetry with its unique fashion sense, daily life and a certain way of embracing vintage items or being more gentle towards our environment.Â
It celebrates classic poets and romanticism while giving us an excuse to dress in lovely, soft clothes and to adopt a more elegant way of living. There is so much in our digital world that can be loud and crazy. Still, Poetcore seeks to honor the quiet beauty of art, imagination, emotion and creativity.
