For the past 10 years NYC-based street artist City Kitty has been pasting elaborate, hand-drawn scenes of an adventurous street cat onto buildings and alleyways throughout North America and Europe. Best known for his large-scale drawings of cats and humans with extraneous facial features, City Kitty has created an alternate urban reality with a touch of double vision and a psychedelic twist. His work is featured prominently on the streets of New York, London, Barcelona and Berlin, among others.
City Kitty is amazingly prolific artist whose work is all hand-done, rather than relying on prints and he is well known for his collaborative works with other street artists around the globe, combining his cat characters with those of other artists.
City Kitty is drawn to the freedom of putting up whatever he wants on the street and fascinated by people’s reaction to street art. He will tell you “When you put something on the street you connect with the general public, not just people who go to galleries or museums”.
