What is creAtIva ?
CreAtIva is the first Spanish magazine dedicated to digital creation with Generative AI, launched in December 2023. Published quarterly, this innovative magazine seeks to promote Generative AI as a trending technology that is transforming the art world. The publication provides visibility and a platform for 25 digital artists from 16 countries, who share their expertise in creating and working with prompts. Accompanying their work are exclusive features, including a chat-interview, practical tips, inspiring quotes, and even uniquely styled fictitious ads!
Each volume of creAtIva explores a distinct theme. In this Vol/5, titled PROMPT Anatomy, the magazine returns to a collective structure, bringing together a variety of topics similar to the first volume. For this edition, 25 international artists were selected from 85 submissions received through an open call. The selection was conducted by a prestigious jury, including Pablo de Soto (Director of LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial), Víctor Velasco (Director of creAtIva Magazine), Juan Lamata (founder of FineArtPrints and Galería color3arte), and David J. Gil (founder of OpenPrompters).
Below, you can explore a representative image from each digital artist, part of a collection of 10 works published in both the print and digital editions of creAtIva Magazine. Each piece is accompanied by a brief curatorial text by Víctor Velasco Recio, the magazine’s director.
The focus of this volume is to delve into how each creator employs Generative AI through their prompts, examining their methodology, sources of inspiration, time investment, and creative process. The ultimate goal is to highlight the creative effort that precedes the final image, showcasing how AI has become an integral tool within the artistic workflow.
VISUAL EMPOWERMENT , Nina Valle Bruch

Observation is key in Nina’s creation, who practices contemplation of her surroundings, capturing details that inspire her art. Influenced by generative artificial intelligence, her work explores trending themes like female empowerment, animal preservation, and a critique of indifference, combining the popular and the meaningful in her innovative visual approach.
ILLUSTRATED FUTURE, Peter Trapasso

For sci-fi enthusiasts, enter Peter’s futuristic universe, inspired by classics like Blade Runner. His work with generative AI presents an illustration where a “resistance” battles to preserve normalcy in the face of irreversible changes. Popular themes of cyberpunk, synthwave, and dystopia stand out in his cinematic visual narratives.
INTRIGUING PRESENCES, Jari Anttonen

As Jari mentions, his creative process doesn’t follow established references. However, those familiar with the “Spanish deck of cards” may notice echoes in the aesthetic of his characters, who appear against flat, natural backgrounds. His style emphasizes themes of self-acceptance and introspective analysis, inviting the viewer to pause and contemplate without judgment.
RAMBAL, YOUR SUCCESS IS INEVITABLE, Javier Arruñada
This year, Javier achieved a milestone: writing his first film during a residency at Laboral Centro de Arte. Using artificial intelligence to explore narrative and aesthetic approaches, he refined his creative proposal, although the final work preserves a classic visual narrative. His story, committed to historical memory, gives voice to those marginalized during the Franco regime.
AI ART PARADOX, Miguel Braña
AI takes on the challenge of interpreting illustration, a field initially resistant to this technology. This project explores creativity between human and machine, questioning if the final result qualifies as a “syntograph.” Does it need the human touch to reach that status? Whatever the answer, the results convey elegance and dreamlike quality.
TRANSHUMANISM IN PRACTICE, Robert Cha
From Piranesi to Eisman, artificial intelligence allows us to explore architectural history and envision future buildings inspired by great masters. It’s more inspiration than imitation. Robert examines how human elements transferred to the machine might impact architectural design. Architecture, in service to humanity, becomes a “machine for living,” echoing Le Corbusier’s vision.
MENTAL ARCHITECTURE, Matthew Coleman
Emotional states, color, and textures take on a meaning of parametric architecture in Matthew’s work. With humans replicating themselves to express emotions, the images are both static and dynamic, drawing us into a surreal world where thoughts and mental connections are visible. This visual world explores the subconscious and beauty without reserve.
7 VISUAL SINS, Luis Ramos
Luis Ramos, a specialist in classical painting from the Renaissance to Impressionism, reinterprets masterpieces in contemporary contexts, linking them to abstract concepts like the seven deadly sins. His technique, clear and satirical, provides a unique perspective on classical art, inviting us on a visual journey filled with originality and unconventional results.
ANATOMY, Ash Phillips

Humans have a deep bond with nature, though sometimes we forget it. Ash explores this connection, suggesting that death is a passage where we return to the ocean, reincarnating as coral that forms part of our DNA. This vision, different from his usual social media style, continues to emphasize respect and unity with nature and the animal world.
COSITA DEL MANGLAR, Carla Lombardo
Once again, the sea and cinema intertwine in Carla’s work, where each frame reveals her poetic exploration. Her approach, far from hyperrealism, tells an experience that highlights the connection between human and machine through the PROMPT. Her images, both dynamic and welcoming, invite the viewer to dive into the mysterious world of the mangrove.
THE NARRATIVE MACHINE, Sara García
This project, created for creAtIva Magazine, is an experiment exploring how artificial intelligence translates poetic language into images. Using novel excerpts on themes like gender, female experience, and surrealism, the prompts aim to capture the text’s emotional essence. The work invites reflection on how AI and human perspectives reinterpret literature, raising questions about creativity versus technique.
WE ARE (ALL) MADE OUT OF CLAY
Idea, form, and atmosphere are the pillars of the presented work, where images create a bond with nature, focusing on nurturing elements. From a multidisciplinary artist’s perspective, this ‘site-specific’ installation, designed for a ‘non-site,’ materializes as a sculpture. The fusion of technique and creativity in her prompts achieves unique and profound results.
BRIDGING ART, PSYCHOLOGY, AND AI VI Shu
Vi Shu, a Ukrainian artist based in Sweden, explores deep themes like humanity’s impact on nature, the psyche, and spiritual connections. With a focus on abstract art and a blend of surrealism and symbolism, her work invites viewers to question their perceptions. Recently, she integrated AI into her creative process, enriching her practice with her experience in cognitive-behavioral therapy.
