The new Doll Dressing exhibition is one of the most playful fashion shows in New York this season. We usually assume that dolls copy what people wear, but the senior curator of costume Dr. Colleen Hill flipped the question around and asked how dolls have changed the way we dress, make our make up and hair and even how we act on camera.
When: from September 16, 2026 through January 3, 2027.
Where: The Museum at FIT, located at 227 West 27th Street at Seventh Avenue in Chelsea, New York. Admission: free.
Curated by Dr. Colleen Hill, senior curator of costume at The Museum at FIT.
A special Doll Dressing symposium will take place on November 13, 2026.
A companion book to the exhibition is published by Rizzoli.
