These players are extremely talented, they have a way they move on the court. Their handling is very rhythmic. As an artist I strive to show a range of motion in my works. However, the beauty lies in the balance! With right amount of balance, a rhythmic sequence comes to life in the most beautiful way.
I have a very understanding family that understands my passions and what needs to be done to obtain my goals. So my sacrifices are theirs as well.
I decided to use 3 primary references for the final design:
Basketball – Domo’s amazing talent and his gift to the world. However, he has shown that it takes a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication to excel the way he has in this competitive sport.
Harlem NY — This is where Domo is from. His background and roots stem from streets of Harlem. While Harlem is iconic, it’s not an easy place to grow up. Domo has shown a tremendous amount of focus on what is important in order to steer clear of some of the enticing distractions a neighborhood like Harlem can propose. His tremendous sense of fashion could have also been a product of his environment. Harlem is very fashion forward.
Family — of highest importance to Domo and myself. Everything we do we do for our family. Domo is also a father and a role model.
In my previous collaboration with FOXYLAB NY we used elements from an existing body of work. Based on the specificity involved in this project, I was inspired to create a totally new work with a strong emphasis on references.
Evoking a high-end, luxury look while still maintaining the urban feel.
Absolutely, Harlem is iconic when it comes to fashion, music and art. I am not from Harlem, but I believe it has played a role in my upbringing and inspiration sources in one way or another.
I believe fashion is a form of expression. When it comes to street style, it becomes one of its dialogs.
I believe they are both, a form of expression, avant-garde and very stimulating.
